My old white enamel covered beater was showing wear and I was planning on purchasing a replacement. While searching for the replacement I saw this slightly more expensive stainless steel beater. I made the additional investment and I am very satisfied. Great buy.
The biggest advantage for a stainless steel beater is the safety/quality of your food. Who wants paint chips in their food? Another advantage is you won't need to buy a replacement when the paint eventually chips away because there is no paint on the stainless steel beater.
The beater replaces my old beater for my KitchenAid 4.5 quart mixer. I think this beater will last a lifetime. The beater has the same overall length but has more surface coverage in the mixer (see photo). The mixing design is slightly different as well.
